The questions parents ask us most

Choosing a school is a big decision. These are the questions parents ask most often when they visit, and how Kinder Paradise answers them in practice.

“My child is still so little. Will they be properly cared for?”

Classes for 14 – 36 months have only 6 – 7 children per teacher; classes for 36 – 72 months have 8 – 9. That gives teachers time to cuddle and comfort each child and follow their own eating and sleeping rhythm.

“My child is at school all day. How can I be sure they are safe?”

The school has more than 40 cameras in every classroom and activity room. Each class has its own server and password, so parents can check in at any time. Medical staff monitor children’s health daily, and specialist doctors give a full check-up twice a year.

“Will my child eat well and enjoy their meals?”

Children have 5 meals a day from separate menus for 14 – 36 months and 36 – 72 months, changing weekly and with the seasons. Food is prepared in a one-way kitchen, and a monthly buffet lets children enjoy good food while practising table manners.

See our food safety commitment →

“Isn’t Montessori just play? Will my child be ready for Grade 1?”

Every material is a lesson with a clear purpose. Children learn phonics and prepare for writing and reading. They learn addition and subtraction and explore fractions and geometry with hands-on materials. In their final year they also join our Ready for Grade 1 programme.

“My child is very active (or very shy). Is Montessori right for them?”

Montessori starts by observing each child. Active children get to move and work with their hands. Shy children set their own pace and are never compared with others. The classroom respects each child’s personality within clear ground rules.

“How do I know this is real Montessori, not just a name?”

Kinder Paradise is a member of the Montessori Institute of America (MIA). 100% of classes have an MIA-certified Montessori teacher, and all teachers hold at least a college degree in early childhood education. Classrooms are fully equipped for all 5 Montessori areas. Come and see for yourself.

“Will my child learn English?”

Yes: 2 to 12 English lessons a week depending on the programme, with native-speaking teachers. Children learn through activities, games and everyday conversation. The Bilingual Plus programme follows the Cambridge International curriculum framework.

“Will the fees go up partway through?”

No. Your child’s tuition is fixed for 3 years from enrolment. Every fee is published on this page, with no hidden charges.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

From what age do you accept children?

We accept children from 14 months to 6 years (72 months). The Standard and Bilingual programmes start at 14 months; Bilingual Plus – Cambridge International starts at 36 months.

Which programme should I choose?

All 3 programmes share the same Montessori curriculum and enrichment activities; only the amount of English differs. If you want your child to use English regularly, the Bilingual programme is a good fit. If your child is 3 or older and you are considering an international primary school, Bilingual Plus – Cambridge International may suit better. During your visit, our teachers will help you decide based on your child’s personality and needs.

Without rewards and punishments, will my child be disciplined?

Yes. Montessori is “freedom within limits”: children choose their work but follow the classroom rules, return materials to their place, wait their turn and respect others. Discipline comes from habit and understanding, not fear of punishment.

My child has been at another school. Is it hard to switch to Montessori?

Not at all. Teachers observe your child in the first weeks and introduce materials step by step. The mixed-age classroom also helps, as children follow the example of classmates who already know the routines.

Can my child start in the middle of the school year?

Yes. Children starting after the 15th of the month get reduced tuition for the first month. Children starting between January and July 2027 get 30% or more off the yearly fees.

Where is the school? Is there a school bus?

The school is at NT8, Viet Hung Urban Area, Long Bien, Hanoi. A school bus runs Monday to Friday, from a pick-up point or door-to-door, with fees based on distance (see the bus fee table in the Fees section).

What is the latest pick-up time? Is there Saturday care?

Late pick-up is available until 18:30 for a fee; we cannot look after children after 18:30. Saturday care costs 500,000 VND/month or 150,000 VND/day.

Are any fees refundable?

The 1,000,000 VND registration deposit is refunded when you pay tuition. The facilities fee is non-refundable in all cases. For other fees, please contact the school office.

Can I visit the classrooms before deciding?

You are very welcome to. Fill in the form below or call 0815 585 818 to book a visit. We recommend bringing your child so they can try the classroom too.
